Paws on Parade
It is a one-day, fun event for your family, including your dog, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
PAWS ON PARADE consists of the Walk to Save Homeless Pets, the Family Festival and the Retrievers Ball.
It will also be an opportunity for past adopters to come with their adopted dogs, reunite with High Sierra Animal Rescue and raise money and awareness for homeless pets in need.
This event is rain or shine.
High Sierra Animal Rescue’s Walk to Save Homeless Pets is an event to raise awareness and funds for saving, caring for and finding forever homes for our community’s homeless pets. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for homeless pets. Together, we can create a future with no more homeless pets.
The Walk to Save Homeless Pets unites the entire community in a display of combined strength and dedication in High Sierra Animal Rescue’s mission. While there is no fee to register, each participant is expected to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. High Sierra Animal Rescue provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help each participant reach their fundraising goal. Every walk participant that raises a minimum of $100 will receive a free event t-shirt.
When you participate in the Walk to Save Homeless Pets, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission-related initiatives of care, health support and search for loving forever homes. In addition, your actions, both through fundraising and participating in the event, help to change the level of homeless pet awareness in your community. Check-in and day-of registration will be in the Park and begins at 10:00 am. The walk will be one mile around the beautiful Mill Pond, in Graeagle, CA. You will have two opportunities to complete the group walk, at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Friendly dogs, on a leash, are welcome and encouraged to come out and support High Sierra Animal Rescue.

The Family Festival is a day for the whole family, including the dog and will go until 3:00 pm. There will be activities for kids and dogs. The HSAR Alumni Parade will be a chance for all families who adopted their dogs from High Sierra Animal Rescue to show off! Dogs and their families will parade through the festival and be celebrated. Each alumni has the chance to become the KING OR QUEEN OF THE PARADE.

Inspired by the Duck Races... Numbered balls will be released into the Mill Pond. Instead of racing, a dog will be sent out to retrieve two of the numbered balls. The first ball brought back will win first prize and the second ball brought back will win second prize. Get your balls today before they are sold out!

Pets must be under control at all times.
Pets must be on a leash or crated at all times.
High Sierra Animal Rescue is not responsible for the actions of your pet.
Pets must be current on vaccinations.
Pets must be sociable with other animals, adults and children and not aggressive about food toys or owner.
Pets must be comfortable in a loud and festive environment.
Please be aware of the stress level of your pet at all times.
Please pick up after your pet.
We want this to be a positive experience for everyone. Pets must be at least 4 months old since younger animals have weak or no immune systems.
Vendors reserve the right to refuse entrance or ask to leave anyone whose pet is exhibiting aggressive behavior.
